Starting with a little housekeeping, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Substack vs Instagram vs regular email campaigns. I like Substack because it allows me to reach you in your inbox like email but also keeps everything here and organized so we can go back and look at previous newsletters like Instagram. The only thing about Substack is that I feel it needs to be longer form and thus more time consuming for both you and me. But maybe a short + sweet post is what we’re all craving in out busy days…. let me know your thoughts below if you have them.
On to the looks of the week which consisted of a variety of bottoms paired with two Vincent James black tops that at first glance may seem basic but are capsule wardrobe stars because of their ability to stand out.
The Vincent James organic cotton tee has a slightly longer slimmer sleeve that makes it a little more feminine and elevated. I’ve been wearing the medium for a more oversized feel over dresses and tucked into denim.

The newest Vincent James piece, an organic cotton double scoop tank is not too fitted but structured + thick enough I’ve been able to wear it without + with a bra depending on where and what I’m doing. I love the blousy drape it provides when tucked into high waisted bottoms; a look I’ve been drawn to since I can remember. There’s something for effortless + feminine about the space between a garment and your skin where the breeze can blow….especially in this August heat! I wear the small in this top when styling it this way.

A friendly reminder that all of our pieces are ethically made in the US in support of small, sustainable businesses. The cotton for these tops is made 100% in the US from seed to sewing. Creating in harmony with people + planet and helping to keep businesses like these alive in our own communities is something we see as a responsibility and a privilege.
That’s it for today. Happy August!
Heather
I really enjoy your Substack. I also follow you on IG, but I find myself opening all of your emails and I get more out of them. I appreciate the work you do and getting to know you on this platform.
I like Instagram for quick inspiration but enjoy reading posts on Substack for a little more in depth discussion (posts don't have to be super long to be inspiring!).
